Though times may be uncertain, a new series at Vincent’s Skybar is giving guests the tools to figure it out.

Earlier this month, the rooftop bar at the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Dallas launched Cosmic Cocktails, a weekly happy hour series on Wednesdays that pairs cocktails with supernatural elements.

The first installment of Cosmic Cocktails kicked off on Wednesday, Oct. 8, with the bar offering three new cocktails: the Mezcal Sunrise, a spicy margarita, and the Cosmo Cosmic, with butterfly pea that begins as a deep indigo cocktail then turns into a bright pink, homing in on the magical element.

Drinks and Cards

From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., guests can enjoy mystical experiences while they drink their cocktails. During our visit, we received a reading from Deborah Colleen Rose, a card reader with over 25 years of experience in the mental health and spiritual space.

Rose notes that she’s not reading from a traditional tarot deck, but actually an Angel Deck — ideal for those who may be apprehensive about getting their cards read but are seeking answers and tools without the harshness of tarot.

“We’re here to entertain, and we’re also intuitive,” Rose says. “We’re not just kind of pulling things out of our heads. We’re asking for guidance on what you need to hear so that you can leave feeling better.”

The first session proved to be a hit, as imbibers and hotel guests received readings — from young pairs of women best friends, queer couples, finance bros and business executives.

Lip Print Readings

In the weeks ahead, guests can look forward to more card readings and lip print readings. In these, guests kiss a sheet of paper, and the reader analyzes markings to further delve into the seeker’s personality.

Beginning in November, guests at Vincent’s Sky Bar can look forward to rooftop stargazing — ideal for those of us into astrology — and in December, Cosmic Cocktail will introduce aura photography sessions, in which guests can get a look at the aura they give off.

“I think people are hungry,” says Rose, “and they’re going outside of their comfort zone looking for other things, because they’re tired and they need to be inspired. And that’s what I set out to do personally.”
